Too Much T.V. is Definitely a Bad Thing.
To all those naysayers who actually believe that television might somehow be inducive to a healthy and sometimes educational environment, damn them. Yes. Damn them.
Why is it, that a poor insomniac (namely me) can be subjected to such atrocities as CatDog, Gigantor, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Dragon Ball Z, Lupin the Third, Oh! Super Milk Chan et cetera? Not convinced of the horror that is Cartoon Network in the A.M.? How about:
The Gary Coleman Show - Cartoon Network has dubbed this show “Gary Coleman” only. By now I am sure you have guessed that our bright and shiny little bus-driver-hater has the lead role as
Andy Le Beau. I had the unlucky chance of watching this show this morning at 5AM. It seemed like a horrible episode of a Hanna-Barbera “great race” cartoon, and what do you know, it was made by Hanna-Barbera.
The Super Globetrotters - Um… what? Now, I remember Curly, Twiggy and a few others starring in a “Scooby-Doo” mystery every now and again, but what in the world is this? Liquid Man, Gizmo Man and other horribly cliche names abound make this the most ridiculous and moronic attempt at a cartoon series.
It is no wonder that both of the aforementioned shows lasted not even a full year. (Gigantor and Oh! Super Milk Chan makes four!)
Now, give me Full Metal Alchemist, Inuyasha, s-CRY-ed, Neon Genesis Evangelion (the eight part movie is also awesome), FLCL or Paranoia Agent any day. As a matter of fact, give me the Tetsaiga and some automail and I would cleanse this world of such rampant idiocy.
Oh, and for the record. What sent me on this boring tirade was seeing an episode title from CatDog called “The Island / All You Need Is Lube”.
