Remember my broken Harlem Nights DVD? Well, it was in one of those huge bargain bins, which is mostly why it was damaged I am sure.
Anyway, we venture back into Wal-Mart to return it and are told that we must search through that entire bin to find the exact same copy or get a different DVD!
So I said, what about just getting a refund? I am willing to search through that entire bin again, but seriously doubt I will find another Harlem Nights, as the previous one was already at the bottom of the bin.
The lady at the Customer Service department tells me “we cannot refund your money due to copyright laws“.
Um… so how does me getting an entirely different DVD not violate copyright laws?
Wal-Mart is a box of morons.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.
I went to see my physician yesterday to renew my subscription for blood pressure medicine and also to complain of recent labored breathing.
Whilst there, I had my “stats” updated. Almost two years ago I weighed 432 pounds. As of yesterday I weigh 497.3 pounds. Yeah, 2.7 pounds shy of a quarter of a ton!
So, needless to say I have begun my diet anew. As a gain of over 30 pounds per year is ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that my doctor also said “just because you are still active and able to tout your weight around effortlessly, your heart does not quite agree”.
Quite frankly, I agree with my heart.
Stay tuned…

I despise Wal-Mart. It is true. Despite the fact that it preys on every social fear and anxiety I possess, I (actually, my wife) found a great deal today.
Let me elaborate a bit first. I frequently shop at DeepDiscountDVD because of the ridiculously low prices that can be found there. Not to mention no taxes and free shipping on ALL orders regardless of quantity or price.
However, my wife wanted to show me up and in her own words “bring me to the realization that regardless of the horrid nature of the Wal-Mart society and the denizens that run amok within its domain, it can actually prove to save you money once in a long while”. Seriously, that is what she said.
Via DeepDiscountDVD, and an additional one at Amazon, I would have spent well over $70.00 USD ($74.72 to be exact). At the legendary Wal-Mart, it cost a pithy $55.99 USD.
So, there you have it. My wife wanted to be right and she is. I just want to add one thing… Harlem Nights’ case is broken.
Here is the list in case anyone wonders. Bringing our DVD total to 375. Yay.
Bad Girls
Blazing Saddles
Girl, Interrupted
Harlem Nights
School Ties
Shampoo
Stir of Echoes
Virtuosity
Wag the Dog

I found myself recently watching Becker; which just so happens to be one of the greatest shows on Earth.
Anyway… in the episode “The Princess Cruise” an affable, yet extremely naive and dimwitted Linda (Shawnee Smith) sets up a wildly inexpensive vacation for John (Ted Danson). Unbeknownst to John are the horrors that await him on that vacation.
More to the point, John says to Linda that she should venture into the storeroom and bring back a boxful of syringes. Ironically, in the movie Saw II, Linda, I mean Shawnee Smith finds herself in a pit of used syringes.
Coincidence? Who cares!? Shawnee Smith is hot either way!
