Ripoff: (I forgot!)

Some stupid insurance company has a commercial that looks surprisingly like “A Scanner Darkly.”

Dammit, for the life of me I cannot remember. When I do I will be sure to post back or edit this post.

I am totally sure that everyone in the world cannot possibly wait to find out.

Pfft. Yeah.

Did you see the movie? Is it worth watching? It certainly looks sumptuous, but I’m a little weary of great-looking movies that lack significant substance. (Same deal with Sin City.) Plus, I’m always hesitant when Keanu Reeves is in anything.

Actually, yes, I did see it. Was I impressed? Not really.

The entire premise of the movie is that the world is consumed by this powerful drug (known only as “D”) and subsequently Keanu loses himself within this world of being an undercover NARC, and being addicted to D.

The visuals were a little cool, but nothing to write home about.

I personally liked Sin City (I took it for what it was). I look forward to 300 as well.

I would say if you can pick it up for rental mildly cheap, then go for it. You *might* find it interesting. I stress, might.

PKD was a great writer, but great book != great movie. I imagine it will end up on my thousands-strong list of “movies to maybe see someday if the opportunity presents itself”.

Sin City was fun, no question about it; what it was, was a pure comic-book-to-movie conversion, and if you take it at that, then it’s a neat little movie with a very distinct style. I just sometimes wonder how many great-looking movies the world needs; surely a movie can have more merits than just appearance. Unless Angelina Jolie is in it; then that’s all the merit the movie needs.

Very true! However, Blade Runner and The Minority Report were definitely exceptions to the list.

That is actually my entire reasoning behind wanting to see 300. I enjoyed Sin City’s comic-styling so much, alongside that blurred imagery that gave everything a soft haze effect.

As a last aside, I own so many Angelina Jolie movies it is pathetic. Think I care about being pathetic?

    Not one bit.
